Sewage Treatement Plant

Sewage Treatement Plant

WATER ENVIRO ENGINEERS is prominent and high quality manufacturer and supplier of sewage treatment plant in Mumbai, Nasik, Goa, Pune, Gujarat and rest of the India.Sewage treatment Plant is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, primarily from Residential houshold sewage. It includes physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove these contaminants and produce environmentally safer treated wastewater (or treated effluent). A by-product of sewage treatment is usually a semi-solid waste or slurry, called sewage sludge, that has to undergo further treatment before being suitable for disposal or land application.

A Sewage Treatment plant which we are offering is not only for the treatment purpose but also getting recycled quality water to fit for the gardening , flushing & other non potable application.

We Offer STP plant with many processes such as given below :

  1. MBBR Process
  2. SBR Process
  3. SAFF Process
  4. Advanced Oxidation Process
  5. Electrolysis Process
  6. MBR Process

STP PLANT PROCESS :

To have eco-friendly & natural treatment, this plant is designed based on the oxidation treatment concept. This means natural air is used to generate ozone gas which removes or degrade the organic matter present in the sewage & at the end clean water is available for the non potable usage or to dispose safely in the drainage or river bodies as per the norms.

1. Pre – Treatment

Screening :  This is the first units of the plant in which large or floating materials in the sewage gets arrested and blockage or choking of the downstream equipments can be avoided. This arrested material will be removed manually and then will be disposed off suitably

Oil & Grease trap : Domestic sewage sometimes gets waste water from pantries or kitchen which contains free oil. This oil if not removed then creates the problem of scum accumulation and affects the functioning of microbes. To avoid this, oil & Grease trap is provided after the bar screen, where free floating oil is arrested prior to entry in the plant. Accumulated oil will be removed periodically and disposed off properly.

Equalization : To absorb variation in quantity and quality of sewage and to provide uniform flow at the downstream treatment process, a collection or equalization tank is provided. This will avoid shock loading and process upsets of the treatment plant.

2. Secondary Treatment

Biological Treatment :  This is the main section of the plant where degradation of organic pollutants with the help of aeration micro organism takes place. To provide higher surface area for micro organism ,floating media is provided. On which micro- organism growth takes place. This makes bio reactor of hybrid concept in which both suspended growth as well as attached growth principal for micro organism is achieved.Due to higher population of micro-organism ,effective volume of bioreactor is reduced drastically as compared to conventional aeration tanks.

To maintain the aerobic condition in the bioreactor ,air supply arrangement is provided by means of aeration equipment which has high oxygen transfer efficiency.

Tube Settler :  Gravity overflow from the bioreactor is collected in the tube settler . In this settling tank, generated sludge from the bioreactor undergoes a gravity settling. Clear supernatant from settling tank will flow by gravity to a chlorine contact tank.

To reduce the plan area of settling tank , tube modules are placed in this tank to increase the settling area of the tank.Since this tank is a hopper bottom tank due to which there is no need of sludge scrapping mechanisms.

Disinfection :  Supernatant from Plain settler, flow by gravity to the chlorine contact tank. To disinfect the harmful bacteria in the treated water as well as to remove the refractory organics from treated water, in this tank hypo chlorite solution is dosed with the help of dosing system.

Sludge disposal system :  Settled sludge from plain settler will be removed by pumping to the sludge holding tank where it is passed to filter press to make cake of the sludge.

3. Tertiary treatment :

Secondary treated water will be further passed through sand media filter followed by activated carbon filter.

Filtered water will be collected in the Treated water Storage tank from where it will be for desired non potable application. Backwashed water from filters will return back to equalization tank.

  • MBR PROCESS :

    1. PRIMARY PROCESS:
    Screening:

This is the first units of the plant in which large or floating materials in the sewage gets arrested and blockage or choking of the downstream equipment’s can be avoided. This arrested material will be removed manually and then will be disposed off suitably. An Oil and grease trap shall be designed to remove the floating oil and grease. The oil free sewage overflows to the collection cum equalization tank.

    Equalization:

To absorb variation in quantity and quality of sewage and to provide uniform flow at the downstream treatment process, a collection or equalization tank is provided. This will avoid shock loading and process upsets of the treatment plant. To avoid settling of suspended solids in this tank continues air agitation is provided. Equalization tank will be fitted with coarse bubble aeration system for homogenizing the sewage and also to keep it fresh during storage. This Sewage is then transferred to a downstream anoxic/aeration Tank by sewage transfer pump.

    2. SECONDARY PROCESS:

Secondary treatment removes the soluble organic matter that escapes primary treatment. Removal is usually accomplished by biological processes in which microbes consume the organic impurities as food, converting them into carbon dioxide, water, and energy for their own growth and reproduction.

    Membrane Aeration:

The overflow from equalization tank goes to anoxic tank or aeration tank if Denitrifcation has to be take place the anoxic tank is required. The overflow from anoxic tank goes to aeration tank where air is added into the water to encourage microbial growth. A higher MLSS of 8,000 ppm is envisaged in the Aeration tank to sustain the microorganism and to effect efficient reduction of BOD and COD.
The overflow from aeration tank goes to MBR tank where Continuous aeration is utilized during the filtration and relaxation cycles to scour the membrane surface and remove fouling. The turbulence caused by the two-phase air-water flow is particularly effective in removing the foulants deposited on the membrane surface. The MBR membrane must always be immersed in the water and under continuous aeration even if the membrane filtration system is not in operation. This design feature is useful in eliminating the backflow of sludge into the air diffusers that can cause clogging of the diffusers.

    Membrane Filtration:

In the filtration step, water is filtered through the membrane, and typically, the operating flux is maintained constant, while the filtrate produced is collected in the filtrate tank. As the filtration step progresses, the foul ants removed by the membranes tend to deposit on the membrane surface and foul the membrane. The rate of fouling is reduced by continuous aeration. Air is applied at the bottom of the vertically aligned hollow fibers. The aeration creates a two-phase flow that scours the membrane surface and continuously removes the foulants. This allows the membrane to maintain a constant flux rate.
The filtrate from the MBR will be removed by means of MBR filtrate pumps. The suction of the pump is connected to the MBR filtrate headers in the skid. Return activated sludge pumps are provided in the MBR chamber to maintain the continuous circulation of the mixed liquor between the aeration tank and the MBR chamber.
The filtrate from the MBR will be collected in the treated water tank. Treated water from treated water tank is used for gardening & sanitary application

If sewage treated & operated properly this sewage treatment plant will give enormous benefits such as

    - It will avoid the water pollution
    - It will help us to give hygienic surrounding
    - After required treatment, treated water can reduce your 60-70 % fresh water requirement, which otherwise we use for toilet flushing, gardening, construction etc. Thus we can save a lot on water expenditure as well as provide us a remedy on present water crises.
    - Being a water recycling & conservation system, commercial establishment gets Depreciation benefits for promoting green & eco-friendly development. Above All, we will be ensuring safe & hygienic environment to our society.
